The procedures for international students to enter and reside at Argentina may vary depending on the place where you do such procedures, on your nationality, on what kind of educational activity you will perform (formal and non-formal learning, workshops, exchanges and internships) and the duration of your stay in the country, according to the legislation in force (Provision 2040/2019 of the National Directorate of Migration).
From a foreign country: we suggest starting the procedure abroad, before traveling to Argentina. You can start your application for the student visa at the respective consulate in Argentina. Remember that this will allow you to stay in the country as a legal student as of the day you arrive with the corresponding visa.
From Argentina: If you have already entered the country, you should start the procedure to obtain the student residence permit through the RADEX system or at the nearest immigration office.
In any case, once the student's application has been accepted, the student must send this form. After such form is received, UNSAM will send you an electronic record (Electronic Preload of Data) and the number of the National Registry of Petitioners on behalf of Foreign Applicants (Registro Nacional Único de Requirentes de Extranjeros, RENURE) to be attached to the documentation requested in each consulate.
Nationality
If you are native-born or natural-born citizen of a MERCOSUR member country and its associated states (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Guyana and Suriname) you have to do a different procedure.
