Spanish as a foreign language
The Spanish as a Foreign Language program is open to foreign students who are temporarily or permanently residing in Argentina. These courses provide the students with the necessary tools to successful communication in real-life situations and invite them to be immersed in a unique multicultural learning environment with the highest academic level.

Our courses:

Spanish I (Elemental)

It is a basic language class designed for students who enter with some or no previous knowledge of Spanish.

After its completion, students understand and use every day expressions as well as simple phrases. They can introduce themselves and others, ask and give personal information about their address, personal belongings and people they know. They can interact using simple structures with a speaker who speaks slowly, clearly and is willing to cooperate.

They can write small and simple essays about things they like and make brief oral presentations about every day subjects, such as routine, food, neighbourhood, differences they observe, etc. They read simple texts and graded readings and films. The practice of conversational skills is encouraged during this course.

Spanish II (Intermediate)

It is an intensive language class designed for students with good basic knowledge of Spanish.

After its completion, students understand phrases and expressions of frequent use related to basic information about themselves, their family, shopping, places of interest, occupation, etc. They communicate in everyday situations that require simple and direct information. They can describe simple facts about his past as well as anything related to their immediate necessities. They understand main ideas of texts if the subject is familiar. They know how to handle situations that can appear during a trip in the target language. They produce simple and coherent texts about familiar situations or personal interest and describe experiences, events, wishes, personal hopes and ambitions. They can justify briefly their personal opinion or explain their plans. They can give oral and written presentations about subjects previously worked in class.

Spanish III (Advanced)

It is designed for students who enter with good intermediate knowledge of Spanish.

After its completion, students are able to interact with native speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and spontaneity to enable easy and natural communication between interlocutors. They can produce clear and detailed texts about diverse topics, as well as defend an opinion about general topics, expressing the pros and cons for each argument. They can understand the gist of complex texts about both concrete and abstract topics, including technical texts, provided they are within the candidate’s area of expertise.

Academic Writing

In this course students will work on essays, articles and reviews to improve their writing skills. The main topics that will be covered during the different modules are: Formal Register in written language in different discourse genres; Letter Writing, Reports and Presentations; Organization, Coherence and Cohesion; Common Errors; Proof-reading; Spelling & Punctuation Rules; Citation.

Medical Spanish For Health Care Providers

These courses are intended for students at the beginning, intermediate and advanced language levels. They are specially designed for people currently employed in the medical field or for those students planning a career in a health related field (such as medicine, nursing, pharmacology, radiographic technology, physical therapy or dentistry). It might also be useful for those working as receptionists or office managers in a medical facility. Visits to public hospitals are included as part of the course. Volunteer work is also possible.

Depending on their level of Spanish*** students will be placed in one of the following options:

Intensive Spanish + Health

Duration: one month. Three days Spanish classes and one day of Spanish for Health. Spanish Pre-requisite: A1

Intensive Health

Duration: one month. Four days of Spanish for Health providers. Visits to medical institutions, public hospitals and Cultural fieldtrips. Spanish Pre-requisite: B1.

Regular Health Course

Duration: 16 weeks. Once a week Spanish for specific purposes (Health Care) plus the regular Spanish course. This course is specially designed for students who are already registered in Spanish regular courses and need extra preparation in Spanish for specific purposes. Pre-requisite: none.

Spanish for Business

These courses are intended for students at the beginning, intermediate and advanced language levels, and offer an intensive skill-based training in executive business. All are topic-based courses that introduce key concepts in today`s business world. Students will work with informative and updated authentic material.

Depending on their level of Spanish*** students will be placed in one of the following options:

Intensive Spanish + Business

Duration: one month. Three days Spanish classes and one day of Spanish for Business. Pre-requisite: Spanish Elemental.

Intensive Business

Duration: one month. Four days of Spanish for Business. Visits to enterprises and business companies as well as cultural fieldtrips. Pre-requisite: Spanish Intermediate.

Regular Business

Duration: 16 weeks. Once a week Spanish for specific purposes (Business) plus the regular course. This course is specially designed for students who are already registered in Spanish regular courses and need extra preparation in Spanish for specific purposes. Pre-requisite: none

Spanish tourism and argentine culture

This course is specially designed for those interested in the field of tourism, art or cultural agencies. The main objective of the course will be to provide the necessary tools for people who are involved in this area. Classes are interactively oriented focusing in the four macro-skills. Fieldtrips are an important part of the course in order to expose participants to real scenarios where they can experience real life situations.

Spanish & Arts

This course is intended for students who have an intermediate level of Spanish. After its completion, students understand main ideas of complex concrete or abstract texts as well as technical texts in their field of specialization. They can interact with native speakers with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular communication natural and comfortable. They can produce clear and detailed texts about different subjects as well as defend their point of view in general discussions giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Spanish & Cinema

This course is intended for students with an intermediate level of Spanish. Students can analyze different aspects of Argentine and Latin American societies (such as history, cultural habits and traditions, linguistic expressions, etc.) through the lens of the cinema. Special attention will be paid to the four macro-skills of the language (listening, speaking, reading and writing). After the completion of the course, students will be able to understand a variety of long, complex texts and understand implicit meanings. They will express themselves with fluency.
